Job Description

Our client is a leading accountancy and business advisory firm.

You will work closely with the team's senior management and will be involved in helping to develop and deliver on their ambitious growth strategy. At the operational level, you will deliver exceptional service to the growing portfolio of NHS and wider public and private sector clients.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Servicing several contracts and projects located across the South of England.
  • Be an on-site presence at various clients and a visible point of contact for the counter fraud service.
  • Work with client staff groups to identify fraud risks in their areas, with a focus on the finance, payroll / HR, and procurement functions.
  • Provide input into the review of fraud risks and best practice to help form recommendations to improve internal controls.
  • Deliver awareness training and support for client staff e.g., monthly induction training for new joiners and annual bespoke training workshops to key staff groups.
  • Contribute to the improvement of general fraud awareness e.g., poster campaigns, Roadshows, workshops, seminars, etc
  • Meet reporting requirements, such as drafting quarterly progress reports for Audit Committee, completion of Organisation Self Assessments and Annual Reporting.
  • Using the NHS Counter Fraud Authority's ("NHS CFA") CLUE database, case-manage referrals of potential fraud from various internal and external sources.
  • Undertake investigative work in accordance with NHS CFA and legal guidance.
  • Assist with the expansion of our service offering, including bid preparation, systems development, and standardisation of documentation.

Role Requirements:

  • Accredited Counter Fraud Specialist (ACFS) qualification is an essential need.
  • Prior experience as a Counter Fraud Specialist, ideally within the NHS or a similar public sector body - essential
  • Comfortable working proactively and managing your own tasks, as well as confident collaborating with others and communicating regularly with senior managers, directors, and BDO's partners to help businesses effectively.
  • Line management experience desirable but not essentia.
