Retail financial services business, located in Yorkshire, are looking to hire a Head of Risk & Compliance. The role holder will join the firms Executive Leadership team, and will lead on all aspects of risk management, compliance and assurance ensuring appropriate frameworks and oversight arrangements are designed, integrated, embedded, and operating effectively and efficiently.
Under the SMCR regime, the role holder is required to achieve Approved Persons status and hold SMF4, SMF16 and SMF17. Applications are welcome from candidates who haven’t previously been approved under the Senior Managers Regime.
Key responsibilities include:
Identify and manage risk, creating strong relationships and collaborating proactively and ethically with all other functional operational teams.
Develop and review the enterprise-wide risk management framework.
Develop, implement, and monitor a risk-based framework of financial crime and anti-money laundering controls.
Provide assurance that the firm complies with current and emerging regulation and meets all applicable Laws, Rules, Codes, legal and regulatory obligations.
Provide advice, interpretation, and guidance to the firm on applicable regulations.
Provide oversight and challenge of the firms systems and controls in respect of risk management.
Accountable for the development, agreement, and timely delivery of the firms risk focussed Compliance Monitoring Plan.
Embed a culture of risk and compliance awareness across the operational teams.
Applicant Requirements
Proven leadership experience in a senior risk and compliance role within financial services (PRA/FCA regulated).
Depth of knowledge of risk management principles, practices, strategy, and architecture.
Experience of identifying and managing risk and compliance issues.
Experience of developing and embedding a culture of risk and compliance.
Experience of leading and developing a team of risk and compliance professionals.
Experience of direct interaction with regulators.
Benefits / Additional Information
Flexible working available with the business comfortable with 2 days in the office per week. Remuneration will be in the region of £70,000 - £85,000, with benefits to include a generous holiday entitlement, 8% employer pension contribution, free parking and performance related pay scheme.
