Head of Procurement, Vendor Management & Third Party Risk

 

Job Description

Role Overview & Purpose

Lead the Group Procurement and Vendor Management Team to ensure all risks associated with third party usage, management, sourcing, and procurement requirements are appropriately developed, identified & managed aligned to the risk appetite.

The role is key to providing a robust Procurement, Vendor Management & Third-Party Risk Governance framework to meet the firms' strategic objectives from a Commercial, Operational & Risk perspective across all 1 st line functions.

The business operates a flexible / hybrid working policy, with the week split between home and the office with locations to include Wolverhampton and London.  Alongside the base salary is a very competitive benefits package to include annual bonus, health care, generous holiday allowance and employer pension contribution.

 

Role responsibilities:

Design, implement and continually enhance the business policies & frameworks for the management of operational risk associated with Procurement, Third Party Risk Management and Outsourcing.

Development and owner of key third party compliance and oversight relationships and systems/tools.

Support the various business change programmes and projects on third party areas and delivery.  This includes supporting the current modernization and simplification programmes as the business moves into a digital and more technical focused business.

Through Horizon scanning conduct deep dive reviews to establish any new and emerging risks and policy changes through consultation papers and policy gap analysis reviews that may have an impact on the Vendor Management, Third Party Risk.

Develop the framework relating to conducting onsite audits of vendors providing material and / or critical or important business services to meet regulatory requirements.

Conduct agreed risk assessments in line with the agreed business risk tolerance levels for all processes and services.

Determine and implement the ongoing strategies for Vendor and Third-Party Risk Management through the implementation, design and ongoing monitoring of the 1 st Line Quality and Assurance standards ensuring key risks and controls are being managed effectively and ensuring the associated Policies &Operational Risk frameworks and required regulatory requirements are met.

 

Personal Attributes & Experience:

Robust knowledge of Third-Party Risk Management, Management and Outsourcing and Intra Group frameworks.

Excellent knowledge of Operational Risk Management Frameworks.

Detailed experience of third-party risk tools and systems.

Understanding of third party ESG (Environment, Social & Governance) principles and developing frameworks.
