Job Description:

 

A highly respected Financial Advisory firm is looking for a Compliance Monitoring Officer to 'collaborate' with Financial Planners and Paraplanners within the business to achieve best outcomes and work effectively with the Compliance Monitoring Team to identify examples of 'best practice' and incorporate these into future guidance and Suitability Report templates.

 

The role will involve taking responsibility for the following:

 

  • To create and maintain a bank of Suitability Report templates for the business on Intelligent Office using document designer, working with Financial Planners and paraplanners to ensure these are compliant and 'customer focussed'

  • To check the suitability of advice provided by Group Financial Planners to a high standard in line with the Regulator's expectations and to check Periodic Suitability Assessments in line with MIFID II requirements and Group requirements

  • To assist with the education and training of new and existing Financial Planners and Paraplanners within the Group to ensure that they have a thorough understanding of how to produce compliant suitability reports

  • Ensure that template Suitability Reports are compliant and in line with Perspective checklists and guidance

  • To undertake client file reviews in line with Group procedures covering all aspects of business written within the Group

  • Construct a clear and professional report on each file identifying whether the Financial Planner has met the regulatory and internal compliance requirements.

 

Key Requirements:

 

  • Experience of Intelligent Office and using Document Designer

  • Ability to collaborate with key stakeholders within the business to understand their business requirements, take on best practice ideas and formulate 'user friendly' Suitability Report templates

  • Diploma in Financial Planning (or equivalent)

  • Minimum of 3 years financial services industry experience, preferably in a compliance monitoring/file review/technical specialist role
