Underwriting & Completions Consultant Role:

To provide a high level of customer service to all internal and external customers, whilst maintaining quality with assessment of key underwriting and completions documents.

Individual and team responsibility to achieve Service Level Agreements in accordance with annual targets and company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

•Provide a consistently high quality of customer service to both external and internal customers.

•Ensure that all enquiries and complex queries relating to Underwriting and Completions are dealt with promptly, efficiently, and in accordance with service standards, policies, and procedures.

•Assess mortgage application and post offer documents.

•Respond to, Solicitors and Brokers written and verbal communication in respect of complex queries relating to Legal and Underwriting matters.

•Arrange for the release of retentions, re-releases, and further advances in line with Financial and Credit mandate.

•Review underwriting conditions and where necessary request confirmation from Solicitors prior to satisfying.

•Review and agree property reports and if necessary, refer to valuer and assess the response.

•Liaise with Underwriters and legal where necessary on complex policy decisions.

•Prepare further advance loans for funds release and deal with complex conditions relating to second charges and changes in products.

•Contribute to personal development, reviews, and planning. Fully engage in any personal training and development activity that is agreed.

•Follow and keep up to date with current best practice and regulatory requirements and recommend improvements or changes to procedure.

•Complete general administration duties and ad hoc tasks or projects as and when required.

•Provide referral/recommendations to Underwriters for offer approvals with rationale support.

•Instruct and interpret valuation reports.

•Take inbound telephone calls where required to support the Underwriting team.

•Identify any potential fraudulent activity and escalate any concerns to Management or the appropriate person.

•Perform pre-offer and post offer pipeline chases to Service Level Agreement.

•Use the Group’s Incident & Risk Information System in line with training.

•Maintain the company’s compliance standards and ensure timely completion of all mandatory on-line training modules and attestations.

•Ensure that you fully understand and comply with the organisation’s Risk Management & Data Governance Policies as they relate to your area of responsibility and demonstrate in your day-to-day work that you put customers at the heart of everything you do and treat data as an important corporate asset which must be protected and managed.

Essential Experience & Skills:

•Previous experience in administration/processing/completions role with a mortgage lender, broker firm or financial institution.

•Outbound call experience in relation to mortgage application processing.

•Detailed knowledge of the mortgage product life cycle from application to completion, and knowledge of house buying process.

•Data Protection Act, Anti-Money Laundering, MCOBS, MMR and UK Finance Mortgage Lenders Handbook knowledge.

•Intermediate skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

•Understanding HMO’s, C4 Planning, and Sui Generis documents is desirable.

•Previous primary servicing or collections experience is also desirable.
