This position will be responsible for creating 2nd line oversight of the prudential risks, working closely with the

CRO.  This will include; capital, credit, liquidity, operational and interest rate risk.

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Management of the oversight required for the prudential regulation(s) areas such as: ICAAP or ILAAP development, Capital / liquidity/ interest rate / Operational Risk management
  • Working closely with the business areas to ensure that the first line of defence appropriately manage prudential risks including the identification, assessment, measurement, review, monitoring and reporting of risks and issues
  • Work within the regulatory requirements of CRDIV/CRR2 with the ability to extend this regulatory knowledge to more strategic insight with impact assessments on the Society’s position and capital plans
  • Development and monitoring of Prudential Risk management information for the Board and the Risk Committee(s)
  • Assist in the development of the Society’s Recovery and Resolution Plan
  • Support the Development of Credit Risk analytics
  • Write ad hoc Interpretation documents, policies and processes for regulatory Consultation Papers and insights from PRA, Bank of England (BoE), European Banking Authority (EBA) guidance
  • Support Climate Change analysis

The Person:

  • Risk Management experience, gained from within the Financial Services sector
  • FRM, IRM, CFA or CISI Certification or other professional qualification is advantageous
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships across different functions and levels
  • Good attention to detail
  • Strong analytical, numerate and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently when required and work under the pressure of tight deadlines
