MERJE are partnered with a fast growing and prominent Manchester based Financial Services organisation in their search for a Lead Systems Accountant.
This is a great opportunity for someone looking to advance their career within an expanding financial services business. The role holder will manage the finance systems team and will collaborate with the Group Finance team. Reporting into the Senior Group Financial Reporting Manager you will maintain the controls around the finance systems and further develop and adapt the systems as the business matures.
This will be a wide-ranging role and provide a significant number of opportunities work on a range of developments and adhoc projects, which will provide professional growth and add genuine variety to the role.
The role will be based at their Manchester office combined with home working.
What will you be doing?
Maintenance and development of the Group financial consolidation and reporting systems Anaplan/Cognos
Maintenance and development of the local ledger accounting system D365
Assisting subsidiary finance teams with the implementation of Anaplan
Assisting with a general ledger migration project
Develop and implement best practices for financial systems and processes
Adhoc issue resolution for finance systems
Report writing in Power BI
Managing and coaching a team of 3 system colleagues
Month-end system close processes on finance systems
Process improvements and simplifications
Work collaboratively with Group Finance and build strong stakeholder relationships across our multiple brands and countries
Respond to Group auditor finance system related questions
Management of finance systems supplier relationships
Is this you?
Proven track record in developing and maintaining finance systems and the associated issue resolution
Knowledge of Anaplan and/or Cognos is desirable
Knowledge of Power BI is desirable
Strong project management skills
SQL knowledge useful for viewing tables
Able to manage and prioritise own workloads effectively
Strong communication, influencing skills and confident in communicating with stakeholders both internal and external both written and verbal
Ideally ACA, ACCA, CIMA qualified or equivalent and Educated to degree level or equivalent experience
Thrives in a fast-paced environment and adaptable to change
Experience of working within Financial Services is advantageous
