** DAY RATE £800 (INSIDE IR35) OR FTC £100,000 + 20% CASHPLAN + UP TO 40% BONUS **

MERJE are partnered with growing Life & Pensions organisation that have urgent requirement for a Senior Financial Accountant (IFRS17)

Reporting to: Chief Financial Officer

This role will support the transition of the IFRS17 project through to the business as-usual phase and be responsible for the production of the appropriate internal and external reports, including management information and other related activities to support the project's success.

 Support IFRS17 transition from project to business-as-usual including support for operational readiness activities such as planning, process mapping and internal controls/documentation.

 Quarterly consolidated management reporting including conducting balance sheet and income statement analysis reviews, investigating trends and variances, and ensuring satisfactory resolution of queries;

 Production of UK GAAP to IFRS17 reconciliation to support management review of results;

 Quarterly IFRS17 group reporting templates including explanatory notes;

 Preparation and maintenance of timetables related to IFRS17 reporting, allowing appropriate time for management review;

 Review and maintenance of the IFRS17 chart of accounts

 Assisting with preparation of the IFRS17 forecast results;

 Production of analytics and commentary to support regular or ad hoc queries on, or related to, IFRS17 reporting;

 Assist with all operational aspects, including the planning, production of reports, preparation of account reconciliations and analysis of balance sheet and income statement items (i.e. understanding of the figures);

 Continuous interaction with the Finance and Actuarial teams to develop understanding of the figures;

 Support the internal and external audit process, ensuring that all information required is provided on time.

 Liaising with Group Finance on the submission of results, answering questions as appropriate.

 Assess compliance with IFRS17 regulations, ensuring that gaps are identified and appropriate actions taken.

 Ensure records are maintained and controlled in accordance with prescribed practices and procedures Core Competencies:

Essential Experience and Qualifications:

 Qualified accountant (ACA; ACCA).

 Knowledge of life insurance industry including its legal and regulatory requirements and frameworks.

 Knowledge and experience of Solvency II and IFRS17 regulations and requirements.

Desirable Experience

 Working closely with or within Risk, Actuarial and Finance functions and with Internal Audit and other assurance functions.
