Financial Risk Manager - Assets

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Financial Risk Manager to join a unique insurance firm based in London.

The Financial Risk Manager will be a senior member of the risk management team working to contribute to an open and transparent culture of risk management and demonstrate a strong awareness of the risks that should be managed within the responsibilities of the role.

Responsibilities of the Financial Risk Manager include:  

  • Contribute to the identification and assessment of the financial risks faced by the firm, in particular capital, investment and liquidity risks.

  • Assess forward looking risk landscape and conduct thematic reviews and implement any recommendations or findings in conjunction with relevant Corporation teams.

  • Develop the processes, systems and data analytics that the risk team use to engage with and oversee functions.

  • Help to design frameworks for risk engagement in key strategic decision making.

  • Assist in the validation of the Internal Model by leading the validation of the firm’s Investment Risk Model and the appropriateness of financial market assumptions derived from the Economic Scenario Generator

  • To lead, or contribute to as part of the team, a range of key capital management processes, including supporting Change, Use and Governance of the fim's Internal Model, production of relevant sections of the ORSA, development and co-ordination of Stress & Scenario testing, Recovery and Resolution Planning

Requirements of the Financial Risk Manager include:

  • Experience of risk management frameworks and methodology with detailed knowledge and experience of Solvency II and current trends in UK regulation

  • Experience of investment risks and financial markets

  • The nature of P&C insurance liabilities and classes of business

  • Experience in risk and capital modelling including Economic Scenario Generator

  • Proficient knowledge of financial markets, products, instruments, and regulations
