​Job Description:

Compliance Monitoring Manager required for a leading lending business to design and execute the business’ Compliance Monitoring Plan.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

•To organise and complete the annual Compliance Risk Assessment, draft the Compliance Monitoring plan using a risk based approach and present recommendations to Compliance Management.

•To undertake and complete compliance monitoring activity in accordance with the plan and departmental processes.

•Maintain the Compliance Risk Assessment monthly ensuring incidents and compliance findings are incorporated, making recommendation for any change in compliance monitoring priorities where required.

•Ensure testing scripts meet the required specification to ensure adequacy of testing undertaken.

•Ensure that the Compliance Monitoring Plan is executed by planning effectively.

•Agree the scope of reviews prior to commencement and submit a report with the compliance findings to Compliance Management in accordance with standards.

•Maintain and develop UTB standards in line with industry best practice.

•Responsible day to day management and the training and development of direct reports ensuring that they are competent and are working in line with values.

•Deputises for the Financial Crime and Compliance Manager, liaise with the business units and complete specific projects as required.

•Review departmental processes and systems to ensure effectiveness and efficiency. Key Measures and Indicators of Success

•Annual Completion of the Compliance Risk Assessment.

•Completion of all reviews within the Compliance Monitoring Plan in accordance with the agreed schedule.

The role holder will be a member of the Compliance Team and be part of UTB’s second line of defence. The role holder will report to the Financial Crime and Compliance Manager. Other key stakeholders: CRO, Head of Compliance

Qualities and Qualifications:

•Highly organised and methodical with an ability to see projects through to completion

•Ability to prioritise a number of different tasks at once

•Accuracy and attention to detail

•Strong communication and interpersonal skills, to include staff training Technical Knowledge

•Competent IT (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and presentation skills

•Detailed knowledge of PRA/FCA rulebooks in relation to areas of responsibility Interpersonal

•Excellent presentation (verbal/written) and relationship building skills

•Ability to collaborate, build trust and influence at senior level

•Demonstrable professional integrity and a strong work ethic

•Confidence to challenge actions and behaviours that are not consistent with policies and best interests of the business and its customers
