Do you have industry qualifications (RO5/IF7) , or are you open to achieving them whilst in the role?

We are recruiting for a Business Consultant based in Northern Ireland, to manage and develop a panel of intermediary firms to exceed franchise sales targets for a range of insurance products.

The Role:

Influence and work with the Franchise Director and Business Specialists to identify and maximise sale opportunities, meet targets, and increase the profitability of business.

Business Consultant Responsibilities:

  • Actively identify areas of account development and deliver appropriate solutions to maximise sales within area.

  • Presentation of sales ideas and technical training to groups of intermediaries as required predominantly face to face or video call (Teams, Zoom etc).

  • Maintain credibility with external relationships through knowledge of their business and market place.

  • Ensure that product range is a preferred supplier by all advisers in all accounts.

  • Develop good understanding and maintain up to date knowledge of competitor activity, products and services and utilise this to build rapport and trust with advisers.

  • Maintain and develop comprehensive industry knowledge, understand market trends, and apply this to maximise business opportunities.

  • Actively seek out those who can influence your business and develop a professional and trusting relationship.

  • Develop good and effective working relationship with all members of your local team to provide and obtain beneficial mutual support.

  • Develop strong relationships with the National Account Managers responsible for managing the relationships of key networks and seek their support to influence your accounts.

  • Fully understand the business plans and strategic objectives of the team nationally.

  • Use effective sales promotional/hospitality and campaign tools as appropriate.

  • Manage key cases and significant new business enquiries, to ensure effective conversion of high-quality business.

Experience and Skills Required:

  • At least two years' relevant experience, ensuring that FCA and internal regulatory standards are met.

  • Self-driven with a positive outlook - a degree of autonomy required in decision making.

  • Motivated and proactive with the ability to work well alone and as part of a team.

  • Strong organisation and planning skills with ability to work to deadlines.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Sound financial knowledge and numerate.

  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office packages.
