Job Description:

We have been instructed on an interesting opportunity with a professional legal organisation who are looking for an AML & Conflicts Analyst to join their growing Risk and Compliance function on a permanent basis.

The role is suitable for graduates looking to grow a career within risk and compliance, or those with some experience of working in the risk and compliance function within a law firm, or for individuals who have passed the LPC or are working towards a post-graduate legal qualification and are looking to take the first steps in their legal career.

Role Responsibilities:

You will be required to review and analyse complex group structures to identify ultimate beneficial owners and persons of significant control.

You will need to apply relevant legislation to determine whether a matter is low/medium/high risk and determine the appropriate level of documentary verification needed for a particular matter.

Conflicts of Interest - you will be expected to review and analyse the scope of new work that they undertake for clients to consider whether that work poses an actual or potential conflict of interest.

Apply the relevant parts of the SRA Rules, you must also consider how broader commercial conflicts may arise across the wider group.

Key Skills & Experience:

Existing knowledge of the relevant legislation would be helpful but not essential.

Excellent written and oral communication skills - You will need to communicate your findings and/or any outstanding information to the business in a clear and concise manner, while also documenting checks in sufficient detail that they can withstand regulatory audit.

Confident - You may need to have difficult conversations with stakeholders within the business, whether to request additional information or to push back on a potential conflict of interest. You must be confident in both your analysis and communication to help the business to understand the importance of your further enquiry.
