MERJE are partnered with a growing financial services business based in Northamptonshire in their search for a talented Qualified Accountant

Our candidate will have hands-on experience of working within a finance function and taking responsibility for delivering on a range of finance processes – Including month-end, reconciliations, nominal postings, invoicing and reporting.


This role will suit a forward-looking accountant who is looking to accelerate their career by joining a growing and innovative lender.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accountable for delivering key monthly routines and output across the Finance function
  • Performing key monthly reconciliations and the investigation and resolution of reconciling entries
  • Timely and accurate preparation of monthly accounting entries and information
  • Maintain financial control processes to ensure the integrity of financial information
  • Analytical review and supporting the production of monthly management packs
  • Close collaboration with the finance team and across the Operational functions

Experience
 

  • Hands-on experience of working in a finance team and delivering a range of accounting outputs
  • Ability to multi-task, delivering a range of month-end processes to tight deadlines
  • Thoughtful use of data to prepare inputs into Management packs and other MI (including commentary of trends)
  • Good data analysis skills and able to manipulate data from a range of sources to produce insightful analysis
  • Good understanding of the importance of maintaining key controls and checks to ensure the integrity of financial reporting
  • Able to identify and deliver process improvement opportunities

Skills
 

  • Qualified or part-qualified accountant, ideally with experience within a lending business
  • Technically competent and able to apply accounting skills to a broad range of tasks
  • Attention to detail and able to apply controls effectively
  • Problem solver, understanding the root-causes of issues and able to drive solutions
  • Good technology skills – Microsoft Office tools and accounting systems
  • Passion for working as part of a team and collaborating to achieve greater results
