Modern Slavery Statement

v2021.0

This statement is in accordance with the UK’s Modern Slavery Act 2015 (“The Act”) and constitutes MERJE Limited’s slavery and human trafficking statement.

MERJE Limited (“MERJE”, “Us”, “We”, “Our”) is a privately-owned recruitment company, providing permanent and temporary staffing services to its clients. MERJE adheres to ethical working practices and takes steps to ensure that all employees/workers (directly or indirectly) are treated fairly, in accordance with the Act.

MERJE has a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and takes the Act seriously. MERJE is committed to fulfilling the obligations to ensure that its staff and any workers it supplies (directly or indirectly) are not subject to behaviour to threats that may amount to modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour and any other similar human rights abuses.

Supply Chain

MERJE establishes relationships of trust and integrity with a client and its supply chain. We will not work with an organisation that is not able to demonstrate their obligations or an equal commitment towards eliminating modern slavery and human trafficking. We believe that in conjunction with the policies implemented by its clients, that we can drive out any features of human trafficking and slavery from our supply chains.

Our selection and onboarding processes include due diligence of a worker and client’s reputation, respect for the law, and compliance with regards to references. We expect that all our staff whether direct employees, temporary workers and contractors with to have the same basic rights to be treated with dignity and respect at work; and that employment must be chosen and there must not be any forced, bonded or involuntary labour in the marketplace.

(We have not been made aware of any allegations of human trafficking/slavery activities against any client or across our supply chain, but if we were, we would act immediately against any allegations and report it to the authorities).

We have a modern slavery policy included in our Employee Handbook, which reflects our commitment to acting ethically in our business relationships. It encourages whistleblowing and confirms that all employees/staff/workers can report any concerns they have in respect of this to MERJE in a safe and confidential manner.
