​As our large loss handler you will be responsible for identifying and handling our clients larger and more complex claims.

We are looking for someone with proven experience of investigating and handling large motor claims up to the value of £250k. We'll also look to the successful candidate to help mentor and grow the technical capability of our clients rapidly growing claims team.

What you'll be doing

•Managing the day-to-day claims handling and investigations for our developing and confirmed large loss cases, ensuring we manage reserves effectively and mitigate our losses

•Supporting, monitoring and reviewing motor claims processed in house or by our third party provider

•Reviewing claims processes and recommending changes. You'll also be conducting quality assurance audits and highlighting any leakage and areas for improvement

•Supporting on technical claims matters in respect of questions

•Managing and coaching claims team members, and supporting them in the development of their knowledge and skills

•Working with others both internally and externally to set up and maintain performance reporting / metrics

About You

Experience and understanding in the following areas:

•Previous experience of handling high valued and complex motor insurance claims in multiple disciplines e.g. bodily injury / credit hire

•how motor claims can occur and are registered

•how motor claims liability arises, is established and negotiated

•claims reserving and payment processes

•Understanding of insurers' exposure to third party liability claims, and broad understanding of relevant case law, CPR and legal principles

•Experience managing or coaching a team

•Desirable: CII/Cilex qualifications
