Head of Operations

Leeds / Hybrid


MERJE is delighted to represent a prestigious firm in the Wealth Management sector, seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Operations. This role is pivotal in leading strategic direction and ensuring operational excellence across key departments. Ideal candidates will have a solid background in wealth management operations, significant leadership experience, and a strong regulatory understanding.

The Head of Operations will play a crucial role in steering the operations department towards achieving strategic objectives. This involves leading cross-functional teams, driving performance, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee the Settlements, Client Cash Management, and Custody/Transfers departments.
  • Set and exceed performance targets in line with regulatory obligations.
  • Train, motivate, and evaluate team members, ensuring a high level of competence.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Ensure compliance with governance frameworks and manage risk effectively.

Required knowledge and experience:

  • IOC (or equivalent) qualification.
  • Extensive experience in leading cross-functional teams within the Wealth Management sector.
  • Deep knowledge of the stock market, especially in clearing, custody, and cash management.
  • Strong regulatory knowledge, particularly CASS.
  • Proven track record in process improvement and a strong risk and control mindset.
