Enterprise Risk Manager  - Hybrid 2 days office - Manchester

An excellent opportunity to join an award winning Financial Services business in the role of Enterprise Risk Manager.

The successful Enterprise Risk Manager will lead the development, implementation, and ongoing enhancement of the firms approach to risk culture and reputational risk.

The Manager will ensure a collaborative approach to the evolution of Risk Culture Framework, aligning it to the broader work on culture, embedding the behaviours that the firm expects to see from its staff and promoting a sound risk environment that everyone takes ownership to achieve.

This role holder will also assist in the formulation and delivery of the Risk Management Framework, that must be adopted by all principal risks and business functions to collectively manage risk.

There will be a lot of exposure to senior management so the candidate will need to be able to communicate effectively to influence the direction taken to manage risk as per the Risk Management Framework.

Reporting to the Head of Enterprise Risk, you will be responsible for:

Responsible for embedding the Risk Appetite Framework (RAF), ensuring that it is appropriately adopted by principal risks, business functions and first lines / second line of defence

Collaborate across teams for accurate, complete, and effective monitoring of RAF

Manage a robust Frameworks, Policies and Standards culture in the business.

This will have to be reviewed annually and managed accordingly

Responsible for monitoring Reputational risk, currently one of the principal risks for the business.

Leading the Reputational Risk Forum and monthly reporting to the Executive Risk Committee.

Evolving and delivering the firm's plan to assess and enhance risk culture, by refining the risk cultural framework and considering how to deploy tools to measure the risk culture against this.

This will be an intellectually challenging exercise given this process is still being developed, there is no 'one size fits all' approach and requires a journey of constant refinement because of BRC/RemCo feedback

Technical knowledge

Strong experience in financial services, ideally with a clear perspective on risk management (5 years+) and the regulatory agenda

Experience across Financial and/or Non-Financial Risk

Project management capability, able to deliver in a pragmatic and focused manner

Numerate, with a clear understanding of commercial drivers that underpin business performance

Strategic thinking capability and experience
