Halfway through 2022, we’re happy to report that MERJE is seeing great numbers as we traverse the challenges that the recruitment market has presented in recent times.
It’s no secret that job vacancies are in abundance as businesses bounce back from the trials of the past few years and look to strengthen their teams as well as work towards their future ambitions. However, counteracting this is a significant shortage of active job seekers.
Whether it’s down to candidates being cautious about looking for a new role, being more particular about their working choices with the boost of working from home availability, or something else, it certainly is a candidate-driven hiring market right now.
Despite this, the MERJE team has continued the run of recent success and achieved 116% of our H1 revenue target. This, of course, is thanks to the determination of our expert consultants, as well as their extensive networks of both active and passive industry professionals which have been built up over decades.
Throughout the first half of 2022, we have partnered with 169 different businesses, working closely with them to identify the perfect talent for their unique requirements. Of this number, nearly half (46%) hired two or more individuals, 24 recruited over five people, and four businesses took on over 10 candidates from MERJE in this period alone.
This is a testament to the value we place on building genuine, long-standing relationships with our clients; partnerships in which we strive to truly understand and support their businesses in achieving their long-term goals by employing considered, strategic hiring methods.
In total across our range of specialist areas, we paired 394 industry professionals with fantastic new permanent roles, 38 of which were senior and c-suite positions such as Chief Legal, Compliance & Risk Officer, Risk & Governance Director and Head of FP&A.
The early stages of 2022 have also seen us celebrate a variety of achievements, from Andy Hodson’s and Paul Sherlock’s 10-year work anniversaries to MERJE’s 10th Birthday. As well as these, we reached the tremendous milestone of 25,000 LinkedIn followers on our company page, almost exactly one year after we hit the 20k mark in June 2021.
There’s more to come
So far, so good on MERJE’s 2022 journey. We have enjoyed great successes, growth and expansion, new team members and much more, and we look forward to maintaining this trend as we continue our strategic development plans over the next few years.
