The many aspects of Risk Culture were discussed on the morning of Monday 24th April at the Institute of Operational Risk Breakfast Session, sponsored by MERJE.

Taking place at Balls Brothers in the City of London, the session was an opportunity for guests to listen to talks and discuss the topic of ‘Assessing and Embedding Risk Culture – A Practical Approach’. Ian Thomas, Ian Mckinnon and Roger Noon from HSBC led the discussion with insight into their experiences implementing Risk Culture across their organisation. Luke Nash, Consultant, Risk Management at MERJE, was also on hand to chat to guests about recruitment within the Risk area.

Once the formal talks (as well as the bacon and sausage rolls) had finished, there followed a very interesting open conversation with the 50 guests, which touched on many topics and could well have continued beyond the scheduled 10.30am finish.

Thank you to all attendees for their thoughts. It was fantastic hearing everyone so engaged with a complex topic – we were delighted with the high quality of the discussions. We look forward to working with the Institute of Operational Risk and hope to see its members again soon.
