As a web content manager, you'll ensure all necessary content is included on a website and is laid out in a way that suits the user. You'll also keep everything up to date and accurate. The content you'll manage can include web pages, images, videos, blog posts, guest articles, reviews and occasionally social media and marketing copy.

You'll sometimes produce copy and edit the site yourself, but on larger projects sites you'll normally act as a coordinator and inputter.

You'll be an expert in your organisation's website and managing the back end.

Web content managers will also organise market research projects to ensure that the website's content is suitable for the audience and various other marketing projects.

Responsibilities:

As a web content manager, you'll need to:

• manage the company website, working with the hosting team and editors to ensure it's meeting the needs of your organisation and customers

• conduct content audits to identify gaps and redundancies in the site content

• create and implement content and update content

• write and edit web copy

• source, commission and sometimes edit images and videos

• develop policies relating to your organisation's web content, such as a house style

• analyse analytics data to learn how users interact with your site

• survey users and hold focus groups to learn about how they view your site

• occasionally update HTML, CSS and JavaScript on your site

• stay knowledgeable about your site's subject area.

• Create marketing material for both the website and sales team

• Any other ad hoc admin duties by request of management

Experience, skills & Knowledge:

• knowledgeable about the website's users and industry

• willing to stay up to date with developments in your subject area and in developments in the digital world.

• an excellent writer and editor, with good spelling and grammar and the ability to adapt to house styles

• Ability to problem solve.

• IT literate with experience of using windows based applications(e.g Excel etc) and outlook

• Must be able to prioritise workload, work alone and as part of a team.

• Good listening skills

• Ability to communicate at all levels

• Be able to work under pressure and maintain a positive outlook.

Hours: Monday – Thursday 9am-5pm Friday 9am – 4pm
