Team Leader in Financial Litigation - 12 Month FTC

Your new role:

The successful candidate will have a strong work ethic, takes pride in their work, able to supervise and coach on a day to day basis.

You will be responsible for a multi-skilled managed services team including but not limited to Financial Litigation, Employment Law and Real Estate

We would like you to have:

  • Experience working in commercial litigation, undertaking legal support work as part of service delivery model
  • Ability to make decisions and deal with escalations, solving problems and queries effectively
  • Can demonstrate an ability in driving high team performance and service excellence, including experience of supervising teams
  • Be capable of mobilizing teams to support on large projects to meet time sensitivities, capable of using project management skills to resource and deliver legal projects
  • Common sense, commerciality and the ability to exercise judgement
  • Effective personal organisational and time management skills and the ability to juggle multiple demands and prioritise workloads
  • The ability to work under pressure, to tight timescales with a sense of urgency
  • Strong attention to detail
  • A strong desire to develop skills and capability and improve quality
  • Strong IT skills across multiple platforms and be capable of leading the team on new technological solutions
  • Excellent communication skills with a professional approach to clients
  • Capable of training staff to required standards and monitoring and improving performance in line with QA standards

The role of a Team Lead is varied and includes:

  • Taking responsibility for the overall work allocation and mobilising teams to support on large projects to meet time sensitivities
  • Supervision of work conducted by the team and ensuring all training requirements are met
  • Liaising with instructors of work regarding return dates, process improvement and feedback to achieve service excellence and improve quality
  • Completing tasks to scope, on time and on budget
  • Responsibility for monitoring time recording and project fees billed
  • Team administration, including but not limited to maintaining a training matrix, holidays and general HR queries, performance reviews and 1-2-1 meetings
  • To role model and embed 'winning' behaviours across the team.
  • To drive a positive, motivating culture within the team that supports the progression and development of our people, whilst delivering operational excellence.

Areas of work experience required could include:

  • Completing MI and data integrity checks
  • Checking legal documents for quality, consistency and content
  • Leading on large disclosure and e-disclosure exercises
  • Drafting and producing legal documentation and standard forms
  • Assessing the relevance of a wide range of documentation as part of contentious claims
  • Managing electronic data site including uploading and ordering documentation
  • Providing pre and post completion support on transactional work areas
  • Legal support work to practice groups in Litigation, commercial, corporate & banking and insurance
