This role is responsible for ensuring an effective risk management framework and operating processes are in place. Sitting 2nd line, this individual will work closely with the Exec and the Board to determine and manage risk appetite, identity any risks and provide training and guidance on risk management to maintain a robust risk management framework.

 

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop an appropriate ‘risk universe’ working across 2nd and 3rd line
  • Further improve and regularly update the risk based Risk Assurance Plan
  • Lead and perform risk based assurance reviews of functions, processes and projects / strategic change
  • Provide coaching and training to 1st line on effective risk management
  • Prepare well evidenced reports and opinions on the effectiveness of risk management
  • Identify gaps or weaknesses in controls or control processes and collaborate with 1st line to identify proportionate and effected remedial actions
  • Assist the business to develop and maintain an appropriate suite of KPIs, KRIs and KCIs
  • Develop and maintain stakeholder relationships as part of regular meetings to keep abreast of developments in the business and wider market
  • Support the embedding of a culture of continuous improvement in risk management

  • At least 10 years’ experience in relevant work (Risk / Industry)
  • Operational and Enterprise Risk as the most relevant Risk expertise to bring
