Working for a leading hospitality & leisure business (Plc) in the field of Risk and Compliance.  This will include ensuring operational practice is adhered to, being a centre of excellence and providing advice at all levels for Risk and Compliance.


  • Implementation and maintenance of key risk, governance and control frameworks. Create and maintain appropriate policies and procedures
  • Maintain an effective control culture to ensure visibility, escalation and effective mitigation of risks and issues across the organisation
  • Work with other Managers across the business to co-ordinate business effort in addressing areas of weakness and inefficiency within risk, horizon scan changes in legal, regulatory and best practice scenarios and address cultural issues/business practice
  • Influence of the Senior Managers to adopt new methods of reducing risk within the organisation by use of recognised practices such as Operational Risk Registers, Transformation Risk, improved compliance and incident reporting and management
  • Provide agenda and minutes of Risk Committees both in the support centres and the field to ensure a joined up approach and that effective action plans are put into place where required.  Escalate risk to Group level as appropriate
  • Monitor that compliance and checks required are proportionate and reasonable and do not place unnecessary time or resource requirements on front line staff
  • Provide support and expert advice. Liaise with specialist areas such as Legal, Safety and security ad Insurance to defend and protect the reputation, brand and commercials of the company
  • Support the implementation of a digitalised “Co-Pilot” system which will provide front line provisioning to the Operation to ensure an operation appropriate to the size, scale and complexity of the organisation encompassing Compliance, Controls, Communications and Planning
  • Provide SME advice around the Business Continuity Management Policies, procedures and best practices. Drive efficiencies and consistency of team and guest experience in crisis situations
  • Support Transformational Risk Activity and Register

Key Competencies:

  • Qualification in Risk or a relevant discipline
  • Track record of success in Risk & Business Continuity within a major company of similar structure and implementation of frameworks, controls and policies
  • The ability to influence, negotiate, challenge and consult up to Executive level whilst interpreting and communicating needs at a lower level to ensure effective implementation of key drives of success
  • Experienced in relationship building skills
  • Self-starter with the ability to generate new thinking and ideas with minimal input or supervision
  • Excellent verbal, written, structured planning and thinking skills
