Senior Manager - FS Credit Risk Transformation, Banking Retail or Commercial-Consulting

 

Credit Risk transformation competency within a big four consultancy is a newly established, fast growing, and diverse team aimed to deliver tangible business results for our banking clients helping them to transform the way they do lending. As a senior manager you will be delivering complex credit risk related client engagements within the Risk function and Business, leading key workstream(s) within larger client engagements or owning the full project delivery for smaller engagements.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Understanding clients’ needs and challenges across the end-to-end lending and helping to design and deliver solutions

  • Delivering exceptional outputs to meet and exceed the expectations of our clients, aligned to our own quality criteria, by:

o managing projects, including structuring the approach, team and timeline and driving each assignment to a successful conclusion, reporting to the Partner / Director

o developing the hypotheses and insights to unlock challenging client problems

o directing analysis, assessing the depth required on each assignment, translating the analysis into useful findings and quality assuring the results in conjunction with project leadership

o planning and managing the delivery of quality work

o defining the source and level of data gathering required to solve problems

o developing clear, persuasive and concise documents, including ones for Executive audiences

o dealing effectively with ambiguous and unstructured problems and situations

  • Leading client relationships and building trust and credibility with our clients through our ongoing engagements

  • Identifying new or extended opportunities within our clients to support them in achieving their goals and objectives

  • Supporting the growth of our business through thought leadership, the development of go-to-market strategies and assisting with the sales process through client proposals and pitches

  • Building and maintaining a strong internal network across the firm and continuing to develop your external PwC brand

  • Training, coaching and supervising team members

  • Upholding the firm's code of ethics and business conduct

 

Skills and Experience

Successful candidates must be able to demonstrate that they can manage multiple tasks on projects and deliver the highest quality outputs. They should be of an intellectually curious mindset and interested in continually developing their professional and technical skills.

Essential

  • Experience in project-based, team-oriented environments (6+ years)

  • Track record of leading and managing teams and delivering against tight deadlines in fast paced and demanding environments

  • In-depth knowledge of strategic topics in UK Credit for Retail, Small business, or Corporate banking, such as:

o products (segment/channel) strategy

o front-to-back credit processes, data and platforms

o pricing and economics

o data driven decision support, etc.

  • Good understanding of credit risk management frameworks, operating models and organizational design, as well as credit risk and conduct regulation across banking and developments in this area

  • Understanding of technology challenges within the Credit Risk and Banking industry

  • Understanding of the banking industry landscape in the UK and across Europe-

  • Adaptability and resilience to work on multiple workstreams and upskill in areas where required

Desirable

  • Relevant consulting / advisory experience in banking and capital markets

  • Experience of taking a lead role in change or transformation programmes within the Risk function of large FS firms
