MERJE are partnered with a Yorkshire based financial services business in their search for a Senior Finance Analyst

This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified accountant to join their Financial Control team. Working alongside other accountants in the team, you will report to the Financial Control Leader, working on statutory accounts and preparing monthly management and regulatory information, delivering commercial and analytical information.

The finance function is currently going through an incredible digital transformation and is amid implementing a world leading financial management tool that will streamline all financial activities. As a technical subject matter expert, you’ll play a key role in the success of the project.

They’ve adapted really well to home working during the current pandemic, so although their Head Office is based in Yorkshire, high levels of homeworking can be accommodated.

Your new role:

• As one of 3 senior Financial Accountants in the team your role will be to support the Financial Control Leader in the delivery of the monthly accounts, engaging with stakeholders across the wider finance team to produce segmental business performance and report through to the Board.

• You will have the opportunity to further develop your knowledge of our statutory accounts process, liaising with external auditors and provide your expertise and opinions to conclude on new accounting requirements.

• Integrity of the financial statements is key, and your role will be fundamental in the review, monitoring and implementation of key end to end controls across.

Our Ideal candidate:

We’re looking for someone who not only has an accounting background but someone who will thrive at the opportunity to work alongside our Finance transformation team to drive forward improvements to our processes, controls and reporting and preferably with leadership experience.

You’ll hold a relevant accounting qualification (ACCA / CIMA / ACA) and may have just qualified looking for that next step.

Experience of working in financial services would be highly advantageous although not essential.

Within the role you’ll be working in partnership with various business areas, building relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
