​Working for this leading digital credit scoring / data firm who have won awards for best place to work in the UK. You will be leading the Compliance function, reporting into the General Counsel and managing the functional leads across the business to ensure that the firm operates its business and customer-facing products in compliance with relevant regulations and law.

What you’ll be doing:

This is a broad role and you will have diverse areas of responsibilities, you will assume managing responsibility for the compliance function, which encompasses regulatory compliance of both the group operations, and the consumer-facing services. You will support the Compliance Manager who will be acting as a senior business partner to the in-house product team who design and build the customer-facing services.

Responsibilities include:

  • REGULATORY COMPLIANCE:

    • Support of overall compliance framework

    • Implementing process and policy to ensure that there is effective oversight of the regulated business

    • Delivering appropriate staff training

    • Making compliance processes part of the DNA of the business

    • Monitoring compliance within policies and processes

    • Ad hoc support of the General Counsel and senior management in assessment of regulatory risk

    • Ensuring accurate and sufficient record keeping to evidence compliance

    • Maintaining appropriate management information for board reporting

    • Supporting ad hoc compliance projects such as SMCR or obtaining of new permissions

    • Supporting the Customer Success team, as required, with complaints handling

  • PRODUCT ADVISORY – helping the business to build a market-leading innovative service that is compliant and customer centric:

    • Being proactive in working with the product team to ensure that they have the right permissions, transparency and customer notices to move the product forward

    • Providing Compliance Advice & Guidance to support the business growth plans – monitoring & anticipating product requirements from an oversight perspective

  • RISK

    • Supporting and contributing to the risk management programme

    • Understanding and documenting the risk universe in which they operate

    • Documenting and communicating risk decisions relating to customer-facing service design

  • MONITORING

    • Managing the framework for monitoring

  • HORIZON SCANNING

    • Building external profile and using external forums and networks to learn about future developments in the sector and regulatory environment

    • Maintaining awareness of changes to relevant law, regulation and guidance, communicating with the business and supporting business impact assessments

Requirements:

  • FCA compliance regulatory experience, preferably in a manager role

  • Experience within a FinTech

  • Broad knowledge of consumer credit and credit broking

  • Working directly with a digital product team – developers, designers and copy writers – to create a market leading product

  • Experience of working with stakeholders across the business
