An exciting newly created role to support the Head of Operations & MI and Chief Risk Officer in providing assurance to the Board and relevant Committees through quality data and reporting. Key focus will be on Group level controls to mitigate risk and meet regulatory requirements. This role will also focus on regulatory reporting and regulator relationship / engagement.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assist in the design and production of the business papers (including reports, management information and key performance indicators) for the plc Risk Committees, to ensure the papers are complete and of a high-quality standard
  • Review and contribute to the delivery of an aligned reporting framework, through governance forums, and committees to enable management to sufficiently deliver their assurance and oversight responsibilities
  • Assist with the relationship management of the firm’s key regulator, the FCA, including management of information requests and meetings with the regulator
  • Submission of Regulatory applications and reporting (including SMCR applications and conduct breaches)
  • To assist in the review and maintenance of risk appetite statements and Key Risk Indicators
  • Oversee the Risk Portal, working with the Risk and Compliance business partner team to ensure that the information is accurate and correct
  • Group Risk and Compliance Plan monitoring and tracking
  • Assisting with the Head of Operations and MI in implementing the Data and Digitisation strategy for the department
  • Ensure Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) is embedded in the culture of the firm to deliver the six customer outcomes of right culture, right information, right delivery, right targeting, right advice, and right post sales treatment

The Person:

  • Ability to communicate across a varied business landscape at all levels across different functions
  • Build positive proactive business-partner relationships with internal groups
  • Experience in Compliance, Internal Audit or Risk Management in a FCA regulated business
  • Experience in producing management information / reports for Senior and Executive Management
  • Ability to see the big picture – concentrate on key risks and take pragmatic approach on both major and minor issues
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to explain complicated concepts and requirements clearly
  • Experience of developing and implementing frameworks and procedures
  • Track record of good judgement, including decision making, escalation and referral
  • Evidence of working calmly under pressure and to deadlines
  • Competence in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Education and Qualifications:

  • To degree or equivalent level or demonstrable relevant experience
