This role will be working closely with the Compliance Director and the General  Counsel. The Risk & Compliance Manager will be responsible for the development and management of the risk function and delivering an evolving compliance programme, whilst also managing certain aspects of GDPR. 
Key responsibilities include:
• Designing and maintaining effective policies, systems and controls to ensure that the business meets legal regulatory requirements impacting the business
• Advising the business on the response to regulatory change
• Assisting the Compliance Director with the production of the annual Compliance plan
• Oversight of the company’s GDPR programme and ensuring ongoing compliance with the regulation, including managing the GDPOR oversight working group
• Deputising for the Compliance Director where required
• Assistance with the production and oversight of Board and Exco reporting
• Management of the Compliance Screening Programme
• Oversight of compliance monitoring and advising on appropriate actions to shareholder / leadership team
• Liaison with relevant regulatory and industry bodies, including in respect of Council Tax, HMO licensing and other legislative programmes impacting the sector
• Reporting on compliance incidents to senior leadership and advising on appropriate remedial actions
• Working with Learning and Development team to ensure the provision of suitable compliance training
• Deputising or the Compliance Director in key internal and external meetings as appropriate
The Person 
• Background in Compliance and Risk gained from working in regulated industry or professional services with a good understating of compliance and risk frameworks
• Broad knowledge and experience of UK Data Protection Legislation and GDPR
• Excellent relationship and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to challenge, persuade and influence stakeholders at all levels
• Strong team player
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to multi task
• Experience of managing large volumes of data and ability to provide insightful insight
• Flexible approach to work and adaptable to thrive in a changing environment
• Presentable, credible individual with a good level of gravitas
