Job Description:

You will be responsible for leading and assisting with regular compliance reviews as well as supporting business divisions with recommendations, conducting reviews and also carrying out agreed action plans. You’ll need to have sound judgement, excellent interpersonal skills and the scope to see the bigger picture. Attention to detail and strong analytical skills are a top requirement.

The role:

  • Conducting reviews to assess the where our management team currently sit against their peers and also the regulatory requirements set out by legislation

  • You will drive for the completion of the Regulatory Assurance plan by developing and implementing an effective compliance culture throughout the Company. You'll be the go-to point of contact for your colleagues

  • Carry out monitoring (including field based reviews as appropriate) of the Company’s Trading Partners ensuring they meet, and continue to meet, FCA expectations and obligations under TOBAs and Binding Authorities as may be applicable

  • Contribute to the development of regulatory procedures by identifying areas of weakness and making suggestions for improvement; produce accurate monitoring/assurance reports and ensure any issues identified from assurance activities are addressed in a timely manner

  • Carry out duties following internal policies and procedures in accordance with applicable laws, rules, regulations, good governance and the business’s shared values, in particular, putting clients at the heart of our business

Your skills, experience and qualifications:
  • Do you hold or are you willing to work towards your Cert CII?

  • Commercial awareness and the ability to take a pragmatic approach in understanding and applying regulatory requirements, experience of the UK regulatory framework and insurance markets

  • Persuasive and credible influencing and negotiating skills whilst taking a hands-on practical approach to achieving outcomes and ensuring that the right culture and behaviours are being pursued

  • Ability to deal constructively with uncertainty and ambiguity and have exceptional verbal and written communication skills

  • Good active listening skills, including: distil complex issues into succinct messages; present confidently and concisely to a variety of internal and external stakeholders at all levels; and deliver, clear and persuasive messages and capable of robust dialogue

  • Open-minded investigative skills; be able to look at the bigger picture, always striving to think ahead and take a proactive approach, able to work in a team and share best practice to motivate other team members

  • The ability to work under own initiative and in many different and challenging environments in a fast growing business while recognising when to ask for guidance

  • Eligibility to work in the UK

  • Excellent working knowledge of UK Insurance regulations and FCA source books, specifically ICOB
