MERJE have partnered with a leading Consumer Credit firm in the search for a Regulatory Advisory Manager to join on a 12-month FTC who will play a key role within the Risk and Compliance department to provide technical advice, guidance, and support to the business on regulatory matters, including implementing regulatory frameworks and providing subject matter expertise and oversight of regulatory projects.

 

Key Responsibilities include:

·         Provide regulatory analysis of the impact of regulatory changes/requirements on the business; provide informative and timely horizon reports on a monthly basis, identify risks, and required changes; and assist the business in implement those changes, to enable the business to meet current and future regulatory requirements and mitigate regulatory risks.

·         Maintaining an awareness of business activities and processes and their relation to regulations in order to ensure that the business can achieve compliance.

·         Identify and initiate projects in order to meet regulator expectations. Act as a key stakeholder on regulatory business change projects as well as providing advice, guidance, and input on regulatory matters to other business change projects.

·         Establish and maintain working relationships with the FCA, and industry bodies such as the FLA.

·         Provide expert advice on regulatory matters for the development of risk appetite, policy, regulatory and risk management framework requirements relevant to the business.

·         Collaborate with business managers and direct where necessary on addressing regulatory issues that arise to improve business processes.

·         Support the Chief Risk Officer in responding to regulatory requests and with regulator correspondence and notifications and deputise when necessary.

·         Provide oversight of training of regulatory matters to staff

·         Collate and submit the periodic regulatory data reports to the FCA.

·         Draft FCA applications and changes to regulatory contact via Connect.

·         Maintain SMCR documentation, including the Management Responsibilities Map.

·         Lead Regulatory Change Briefings for Certified Managers and highlight to individuals regulatory change that has an impact on their business area.

 

Experience and personal attributes you will have:

·         Up to date knowledge of the UK financial services regulatory framework and the regulator's key areas of focus.

·         Experience of managing and developing people through effectively supervising, coaching, and mentoring will be required.

·         Working knowledge of the Consumer Credit Act and relevant FCA regulation.

·         Experience in making expert technical decisions regarding interpretation of regulations.

·         Ability to articulate regulatory changes and risks clearly and succinctly, in writing and verbally, in an appropriate manner to a wide range of stakeholders.

·         Strong project management experience, ideally relating to risk and regulatory projects.

·         Proven stakeholder management experience and presentation skills.

·         Experience of working in a regulated environment and dealing directly with regulators.

·         Up to date knowledge of the key FCA sourcebooks (SYSC, CONC. MCOBS, ICOBS, COBS andDISP).
