​A great opportunity for an Operational Risk Manager for one of the largest private-sector pension scheme in the UK and one of the largest pension funds in Europe.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the Head of Operational Risk to implement and maintain effective operational risk management in line with the Enterprise Risk Management Framework and associated policies.

• Providing appropriate advice, support and assurance to ensure the business develops and progresses its approach to effective risk management across all functions of the business.

• Be the operational risk subject matter expert for the business, providing support and guidance as required.

• Drive an open and honest culture across the business with respect to risk matters to support corporate objectives and, ultimately, secure the best available outcomes and experiences for the Scheme members.

• As a robust second line of defence the team aims to achieve its objectives by:

- providing strong independent challenge and oversight to the business’s first line of defence functions,

- providing advice, guidance, education and training to the business, as appropriate; and

- maintaining a collaborative and strong relationship with internal audit as the business’s key third line of defence function.

• Helping to further define and embed the three lines of defence risk assurance model across the business.

• Facilitate with the implementation and maintenance of Enterprise Risk Management in line with the framework and associated policies.

Functional or Technical Knowledge and Skills Required

• A thorough understanding of risk management from the pension investment perspective

• Experience and skills developed primarily in the investment management industry with strong investment industry knowledge

• Demonstrable experience of Enterprise Risk Management as part of a second line operational risk management function.

• An understanding of the regulatory environment applicable to a UK defined benefit pension scheme would be advantageous.

• Experience of working in a regulated environment, eg Financial Conduct Authority or similar role
