The position is focused on Operational Resilience and Business Continuity in the financial services industry. The key responsibilities include developing and maintaining the Operational Resilience Framework, supporting business functions in creating Business Continuity Plans, participating in testing, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the on-going development and maintenance of the Operational Resilience Framework, ensuring a consistent approach and execution across all functions and locations
  • Develop and maintain proactive engagement with a ‘community’ of business functional contacts. Collaborating across the business, to continually identify the operations, processes and technologies required in building and maintain optimal recovery plans/arrangements
  • Advise and supporting business functions in completing annual Business Impact Assessments (BIA) and development of functional Business Continuity Plans (BCP). This includes the identification of Important Business Services and completion of resource mapping in line with regulatory guidance. Provide independent challenge to the assumptions of each 1st line business function
  • Understanding the current and future regulatory demands and expectations and contribute to the framework that ensures the Group’s on-going compliance
  • Ensure that you fully understand and comply with the organisation’s Risk Management Policies and Data Governance Policies

Experience Requirements:

  • A background in operational resilience, business continuity, incident management, operational risk or audit is required
  • Experience in managing Operational Resilience or Business Continuity (within the financial services industry) is essential
  • Proven ability to effectively manage stakeholders across different geographic locations and at all levels of seniority is essential
  • Experience in designing, planning, and delivering exercises using ‘severe but plausible scenarios is desirable
  • Experience in the production of formal policy/procedural type documentation is desirable
  • Experience in facilitating meetings and workshops at operational and senior management level is desirable
