The Lead Credit Risk Specialist is a key role within the Operations Management team, ensuring that there is a fit for purpose Credit Risk policy in place aligned to the firm’s risk appetite & OKRs.

The primary role of the Lead Credit Risk Specialist is to work with Commercial, Finance & 3rd party agencies to build, develop & maintain the Credit Risk policy rules in line with market conditions & the firms risk appetite specifically in relation to EBITDA/ Bad debt losses.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Develop the credit risk strategy for a multiproduct cross industry customer portfolio working with key 3rd party suppliers within Credit industry.

  • Accountable for the creation and maintenance of the credit risk policy, final sign off the Director of Operations.

  • Work with the wider Debt Recovery, Onboarding & Accounts Receivable Heads of Department to ensure process & policy are designed & developed to support the credit risk policy.

  • To build, develop & maintain the Credit Risk strategy & models working closely with Data & Insights Director & key industry 3rd party suppliers.

  • Provide regular updates on the development & implications

Experience:

  • Previous experience in a Senior Credit Risk role, with accountability for the design and deliver of Credit Risk policy is essential.

  • Experience working within a complex business i.e. multiproduct

  • Demonstrable experience of working directly with C suite execs

  • Ability to analyse large data sets and provide exec level summaries.

  • Experience of designing/amending credit score cards with demonstrable evidence of success in improving portfolio health / bad debt losses

  • Previous use of SQL/Relational databases.

  • Advanced Excel ability.
