​MERJE are partnered with an established and prominent Financial Services business based in Cheshire in their search for an IT Category Manager.

This is a newly created role reporting to the Lead Procurement Manager.

Our Ideal Candidate:

•Strong procurement-related skills set (including sourcing, supplier management and supply market analysis). IT and cross category experience desirable.

•Specialist procurement and supply market knowledge and able to articulate strategic imperatives associated with business strategy.

•Knowledge and experience of initiating, developing and executing market-leading procurement plans and processes.

•Build strong working relationships with senior stakeholders and key suppliers.

•Ability to review and analyse key external trends and influences to ensure that a wide range of information is used to support the development of strategy in line with the planned overall business direction.

•Strong negotiation skills.

•Strong due diligence skills and experience.

•Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.

Your new role:

•Deputises for the Procurement Manager as/when necessary.

•Meet the business need for goods and services at the lowest total cost.

•Deliver procurement-related benefits in line with plan through the application of best practice procurement practices and strong supply market knowledge.

•Work with designated business units and other teams to identify and implement to contract stage, sourcing initiatives that help drive the Together strategic agenda. Ensure effective handover of contract to business or embed within own team.

•Proactively work the expenditure and contracts to secure best value for Together in the short and longer term.

•Deliver the appropriate governance and risk mitigation and embed into supply contracts.

•Synthesise information, identify best practices, ascertain future requirements and where appropriate, respond to changes in the internal and external business environment to secure best value from third party expenditure.

•Assists with the updates of the Supplier Dashboard, detailing the Supplier Performance metrics.

•Leads Supplier Performance Management activities for some of the key suppliers, ensuring corrective actions are implemented where necessary.

•Leads BAFO negotiation on behalf of Together where required.
