MERJE are partnered with a growing privately owned medical procedure business in their search for a talented Head of UK Accounting & Reporting.

This is a newly created, full time opportunity reporting directly to the CFO with accountability for a team of 6 direct reports.

The primary objective of this role will be to provide accurate reporting and analysis of clinic and statutory results. Working closely with the Clinic General Managers, Group HQ and Finance team to ensure reporting to Clinics and the Group is precise, efficient, compliant, and business-focused. Oversee all financial governance matters.

Our Ideal candidate will have excellent leadership and management skills with the ability to develop cohesion and a one team culture across a remote working workforce.

Your new role:

Managing the UK Finance Team of six experienced professionals.

Ensuring timely preparation of monthly UK Finance results and management information that supports and influences decision-making across the business in accordance with group guidelines.

Meeting monthly deadlines for financial reporting including Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet, and EBITDA; having strong analytically skills to tell the story behind the numbers

Ensuring preparation of all monthly balance sheet reconciliations and ability to challenge balances therein.

Ensuring statutory compliance and reporting including completion of VAT returns.

Ensure the highest standards of management reporting and pro-actively bring to management's attention areas of financial or operational inefficiency

Cash flow management

Ensuring the timely preparation of the annual statutory accounts and liaising with external auditors

Assist in developing systems and processes for project appraisals, cost reporting and forecasting to improve accuracy and efficiency.

Where opportunities arise, involvement in M&A activity including due diligence, preparation of working capital analyses, and subsequent involvement in integration of any new acquisitions.

Support and participate in activities that develop and improve central services at Group level.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge in own area of expertise.

Key user for Navision

Act in full compliance with the letter and spirit of national and company legal, ethical and regulatory laws and standards.

Ensure that patient confidentiality is maintained at all times in line with Group policies, current HFEA Code of Practice, Information Governance guidelines and the Data Protection Act.

Provide team leadership and oversee the development of the team

 Responsible for ensuring suitable financial controls are in place to reliably mitigate risk and support governance.

Undertake additional or other duties as necessary to meet the needs of the business.
