Senior Credit Risk Manager- Chester- up to £75K
My Client is on the search for a Senior Credit Risk Manager who has experience managing within a Credit Risk function, with experience across multiple areas of the credit risk lifecycle or analytics. There needs to be good people management capabilities with a desire to build out development plans for the team and grow their skillsets, as well as continuing to bring additional resource into the business and focus on graduate talent. The successful candidate will need to be able to evidence a track record of delivering strategic change within a Financial Services business.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsibility for management of the Credit Risk function, with team managers as direct reports and various analytical and operational staff sitting within the department
Credit Acquisition - ownership of policies, affordability strategy, risk-based-pricing strategy and policy rule management, as well as managing strategy implementation within the decision engine
Fraud Detection - ownership of fraud systems, rulesets and management responsibility of Financial Crime Investigation team
Collections Strategy - work alongside the Collections Operations team to build out quality reporting and strategic recommendations to enhance the contact strategy and drive automation
Credit Risk Operations - accountable for the performance and day-to-day management of the Manual Underwriting team, ensuring KPIs and service delivery is as expected and identifying opportunities to speed up and further automate the credit decision process
Analytics - oversee the development of Credit Risk models to drive the business forward, including customer acquisition and collections scorecards, as well as ensuring the ongoing performance of the models
Stakeholder management - management of stakeholders at various levels across the business, including the Leadership Team and Board
Key Requirements:
Development and delivery of strategy across the Credit Risk lifecycle
Developing and managing line of business policies
Strong experience in making data driven decisions with especial focus on marginal decision making and performance
Experience in various areas of Credit Risk & Analytics, showing the ability to work across departments and manage different strategies
Have a good business intuition on Risk adjusted return requirements & overall is able to manage, analyse and recommend changes as appropriate
Support the annual budget, forecast and planning processes, from assessment of internal and external trends through data mining and analysis, from initial concept through to delivery
Identify, track and communicate key performance indicators to the wider business, drawing insight from performance and providing narrative around performance
Identify operational inefficiencies and manage the implementation of change within the Credit Risk function, seeking out automation opportunities to ensure that the Operational function and analytical offering remains scalable for business growth
Partnership with various business areas, such as Technology, Finance, Loss Forecasting
A good understanding of credit policy governance framework and is able to work through 2nd/3rd line of defence in a competent manner
A good understanding of credit risk model development (e.g. logistic regression)
