​This role is responsible for the delivery of an effective Risk and Compliance Function that delivers a strong level of protection for the business, against regulatory risks or issues and protects the interests of customers we act for. The role requires engagement and partnership with the Board of Directors and the ability to connect with colleagues at all levels, particularly with operational management to identify opportunities and implement solutions that reduce risk, while delivering positive customer outcomes.

The role will involve:

• Supporting and advising Executive Directors and the Board on all compliance matters.

• Supporting the CEO and Directors with projects and delivery of company strategy.

• Engagement with regulators on matters of supervision, regulatory requests, notifications, and applications.

• Lead and drive projects that will achieve good outcomes for retail customers.

• SMF16 for the business and comply with SMCR / SYSC / COCON / FIT rules.

• The effective design and timely delivery of the business’s risk-based Compliance Monitoring Plan, which reports on the state of compliance and effectiveness of the control framework.

• Providing assurance to the Board of the effectiveness of the business’s policies and compliance procedures.

• Adequate and effective second line Quality Assurance activities.

• Compliance with regulatory complaint handling procedures and the performance of the Complaint Handling function.

• Appropriate Horizon Risk scanning procedures and delivery of regulatory change projects.

• Maintaining the Business’ risk registers – partnering with Executives, Management and the Board.

• Acting as MLRO, providing advice on financial crime risks, risk assessments and effective control over the business’s financial crime risks.

• Production and integrity of the firm’s regulatory reporting in respect of its regulated activities.

• Managing compliance with data protection law.

• Managing compliance policies and procedures, including periodic review and update.

• The production of adequate reports/MI to inform governance and as a confirmation of early warning mechanism that regulatory risks, issues and incidents are adequately mitigated, or where weaknesses exist, risk management activities require escalation.

Key Requirements:

• 5+ years’ experience at Senior Compliance Management level

• 2+ years’ experience working with a Board

• Strong understanding of FCA Financial Services and SRA regulatory frameworks.
