​Our Client, a market leader in their field of operation with revenue in excess of 1 billion pounds, is looking to recruit a Group Financial Accounting Manager to support with the Financial reporting requirement for the Group and the day to day running of the Group Financial Accounts Team.

Reporting to the Head of Group Financial Accounting, this position will play an integral part in the Financial strategy of the Group and drive process improvement and efficiencies.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Monthly Divisional performance reporting

• Manage the year end close process; prepare statutory accounts and prepare year end reporting packs

• Take a pro-active approach to lead and deliver the audit effectively and to tight deadlines

• Corporate and tax structuring (working closely with our third-party tax advisors)

• Prepare, develop and maintain policies and papers on technical accounting matters working independently and jointly with the Senior Financial Accounting Manager

• Research on new accounting developments and implications to the Group

• Full Assist forecasts and business plans as agreed with Financial planning

• Assist on special projects and provides ad hoc reports as needed

• Providing support in technical accounting matters

• Closely managing the Accounting team

Key Skills and Criteria:

• My client is looking for a fully Qualified Accountant. You must have experience of managing teams.

• Experience of statutory accounting and liaising with auditors is also a prerequisite

• Ability to drive change, work independently and part of a team

• Attention to detail and strong financial control skills

• Adherence to deadlines, and the ability to work under the pressure of month end and year end deadlines

• Confident and comfortable with liaising with the external Big 4 Auditors

• Excellent Technical Accounting Skills with analytical skills

• Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with direct reports, senior Finance Stakeholders and non-Financial staff.

• Detailed Knowledge of FRS 102, Accounting Standards and Statutory and Regulatory Reports and IFRS

• Proven track record of process improvement and driving efficiencies

This would be a hybrid role currently with 3 days in the office and 2 days working remotely but can change during busier periods of Year end etc
