​MERJE are partnered with a leading Manchester based Financial Services organisation in their search for a Group Financial Accountant.

This is a great opportunity for someone looking to advance their career within an expanding financial services business. The role holder will be a key member of the Group Finance team and will work closely alongside the Group Financial Reporting Manger and Senior Manger to prepare a robust set of consolidated Group results each month.

This will be a wide-ranging role and provide a significant number of opportunities to get involved with different types of work outside the core role, which will provide professional growth and add genuine variety to the role.

What will you be doing?

• Work collaboratively with Group Finance and build strong stakeholder relationships across our multiple brands and countries

• Assist the Group Senior Financial Reporting Manager with production and completion of the monthly board report deliverables and quarterly, half yearly and annual statutory reporting

• Populate statutory notes from information provided by the wider Group teams

• Assist in the implementation of the new accounting system (Anaplan)

• Assist with balance sheet and intercompany reconciliations

• Produce monthly and quarterly Group reporting instructions

• Provide reporting and insight to the wider finance team as required

• Assist with the management of the Group auditors – facilitating the deliverables from the wider group

• Act as a key contact for auditors and in turn liaise with internal stakeholders

Is this you?

• Track record in managing the financial control and reporting environment expected of a listed entity

• Ideally ACA, ACCA, CIMA qualified or equivalent and Educated to degree level or equivalent experience

• Experience of working within Financial Services is advantageous

• Knowledge of Anaplan and/or Cognos is advantageous

• Experience of Group reporting under IFRS

• Proven track record of group consolidation month-end/year end processes

• Strong communication, influencing skills and confident in communicating with stakeholders both internal and external both written and verbal

• Able to manage and prioritise own workloads effectively

• Thrives in a fast-paced environment and adaptable to change
