​Excellent Opportunity for an experienced Governance & Risk Manager to join a leading Insurance Business. Within the role, you'll bring a good knowledge to support, direct and influence the business’ senior managers and teams. You will be responsible in supporting a proportionate and effective governance structure to ensure risk-based business decisions are evidenced, reviewed and approved.

Key Responsibilities for the Governance & Risk Manager:

• Setting the benchmark and expectation for the design and operation of good governance for the business and undertaking governance effectiveness reviews

• Working with key stakeholders across the CRO’s second line team to ensure governance requirements and expectations are being met

• Providing support and secretariat services for the Commercial Risk Committee and Commercial Conduct Risk Committee

• Defining, maintaining and facilitating effective governance over the risk accountability model

• Designing and implementing a minimum standard of risk reporting and risk insight required through the Commercial business that is aligned with the Commercial Executive’s and Board’s requirements and oversee its use

• Coordination and preparation of risk reporting for the Commercial CEO for presentation at Board level

Experience:

• Proven ability to plan, lead and execute governance effectiveness reviews

• Demonstrable knowledge of PRA and FCA requirements and expectations of what good governance and risk reporting looks like in the context of the general insurance sector and global insurance company along with strong examples of involvement in their design, implementation and practical application

• Experience of providing risk advice and direction into change projects that influences and drives better risk outcomes

• Commercial and pragmatic outlook, able to work at pace and delivery focussed with strong analytical skills

• Ability to work with ambiguity and influence others to get to the most pragmatic solution

• Desirable experience in working in the general insurance sector, FS background will also be considered

• Previous people management experience
