MERJE are partnered with a Yorkshire based Financial Services organisation in their search for a candidate with experience of Cost Management.

Your new role:

To deliver a variety of activities in support of the month end close cycle, and other key outputs such as the forecast and budget cycles.

Key responsibilities:

•Deliver accurate month end reporting and other financial outputs. Communicate the performance of the Group wide cost base and key messages arising to the wider Group finance team and other key stakeholders.

•Derive and process month end transactions relating to the cost base.

•Liaise with colleagues to migrate shared services activities insofar as they relate to cost management, into the shared services team.

•Deliver timely and accurate analysis and insight into the central cost base.

•Understand key variances to budget to ensure an up to date view of a rolling forecast of costs is maintained.

•Support the preparation of the central costs budget and forecasts, working closely with FP&A and FBP’s.

•Understand and challenge spend and recharges coming in from other divisions including numbers provided from FP&A team.

•Maintain accurate and robust financial transactions and related reports to ensure accuracy and completeness of information.

•Submission of additional analysis on financials and provision of commentary to Finance and Business stakeholders (primarily FBPs and FP&A) on actuals, budgets, and forecasts when required.

•Execute Financial Control to ensure compliance across the function.

Our Ideal Candidate:

•Have a strong understanding of the end to end cost management.

•Part qualified accountant (or) AAT any level

•Experience of working in Financial Services would be an advantage.

•Expected to work off own initiative.
