​Our client, a leading privately owned group engaged within Commercial and Residential development, is looking to recruit an astute, part qualified Financial Accountant to join one of their most successful operating divisions.

Working alongside the Finance Manager and reporting to the Finance Director your responsibilities will be as follows:

Key Responsibilities include:

•Provide timely and effective monthly management accounts including actual results, updated forecasts, cash flow projections, balance sheets and key performance indicators.

•Assisting Divisional Finance Director in maintaining a weekly rolling forecast for the division, to aid the management of the Division’s and Groups cash flow requirements.

•Maintain and improve analysis of key cost centres within the housebuilding regions, reporting variances to budget and project cost, with analysis conducted by site and plot.

•Reporting on and maintaining the Group’s shared equity loan book.

•Providing support and analysis to the four regional boards and management where required on all financial information and site costings.

•Becoming a super user of the division’s new construction software (COINS) and assisting the Divisional FD in its on-going implementation and development.

•Monitoring strong financial controls across all Residential Division operations

•Production of board reports for Regional, Divisional and Group board meetings.

•Contribution to and involvement in system improvements across all facets of the Residential divisions and key involvement in the continued development and implementation of COINS to aid cost management, forecasting, and reporting to the regional and main board.

•Working closely with the Residential Division Financial Director, to monitor, maintain and enforce strong financial controls across the operating companies to safeguard the assets of the Group and compliance with legal requirements.

•Compile and maintain statutory accounts and year end audit files and ensure clean external audit sign-off for Residential Division companies. This to be done in accordance with the Group statutory reporting timetables and to prevailing accounting standards.

•Provide support and cover to the Residential Finance Team.

•Make positive contribution to the continual improvement of the Group finance function through active participation in the regular Finance Review meetings.

Previous experience and qualifications:

•Experience in production of Management accounts (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Consolidation)

•Actively undertaking studies (ACCA/CIMA)

•Preferably experienced in the construction industry

•Strong excel and analytical skills

•Preferably COINS experience

•Ability to show confidence when interacting with management and directors

•Looking to grow into the role and develop skills and experience

The ideal candidate would be currently undertaking ACA / CIMA studies and the Organisation is happy to offer study support with this role
