MERJE are partnered with a leader in investment and asset management who currently seek a qualified financial accountant to assist with the monthly preparation and development of the financial and business reporting for the Group’s portfolio investments, totalling over £1bn. This is a fast-growing and dynamic business and the role provides excellent opportunity for development.
The role is within the Portfolios team where we produce purchases and collections management information as well as overseeing the financial modelling of the Group’s portfolio investments.
The candidate should have strong analytical skills and numeracy, as well as a high comfort level with Microsoft Office including advanced Excel and ability to present data in most meaningful way.
Responsibilities will include:
•Leading on the monthly purchases and collections management information reporting
•Inputting purchases and collections into the monthly portfolio system (Cognos) and generating the outputs required for journal postings by the various geographies
•Performing monthly reconciliations of the portfolio investments
•Working closely with the portfolio system (Cognos) developers on changes and improvements to the system
•Working closely with other business areas to test and implement portfolio cash flow forecasts
•Supporting on the quarterly production of the portfolio note for statutory purposes
•Supporting with portfolio audit queries
Our ideal candidate:
Qualified accountant – ACA, ACCA or CIMA
Excellent organisational skills
Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
Expertise – desirable
In-depth knowledge of IFRS, particularly IFRS 9
Financial services experience
Prior experience of liaising with external auditors
