MERJE are partnered with a fast-growing, innovative finance company in their search for Financial Accountant to join their team.

The role is ideally suited to a candidate looking to work and develop in a dynamic environment collaborating with contacts across Finance and the wider business.

​

You will contribute to the preparation of the monthly management accounts and deliver insightful analysis and reporting of performance to support decision making.

​

​

You will lead the change programme across financial accounting, ensuring that strategic and operational changes in the business are correctly reflected in the accounts and embedded in to reporting processes.

​

What will you be doing day-to-day?

​

•Own the month end close process, working with stakeholders across the business to ensure accurate accounting for assigned retailer portfolios. Own the associated balance sheet reconciliations ensuring high quality support is in place and support monthly balance sheet reporting and analysis

•Support the Management Accounting Senior Manager with monthly reporting and detailed reviews. Provide insightful analysis of the actuals to the business, including assisting Commercial Finance in understanding the drivers behind reported results

•Lead the change programme within financial accounting, working with project owners across the business to complete accurate impact assessments of strategic and operational change projects on accounting processes. Work with owners across the financial accounting team to build or adapt impacted processes and communicate any accounting impact of the project to business owners

•Ensure all deliverables adhere to the Financial Control Framework and contribute to the delivery of continuous process and control improvements for assigned areas of responsibility

Your Skills and Experience

ESSENTIAL:

•ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified

•Experience of Financial Reporting, Finance analyst or Management accounting roles

•Knowledge of accounting standards (IFRS)

•Proactive with the ability to analyse performance to deliver insight which is presented clearly and concisely

•High attention to detail, problem solving skills and a desire to understand the wider implications of decisions for the business

•Ability to work cross functionally with non-finance personnel
