MERJE are partnered with a leading Manchester based, online Retail and Financial Services organisation in their search for a talented Finance Data Manager.

The role

As the company looks to improve the accuracy of forecasts, this role has been created to work between the Data Science (DS) developers, Brand Planning Managers, Commercial and Central Finance. 

The role will play a pivotal part integrating the Data Science tools into the group, providing 360 feedbacks, ensuring the inputs and outputs are projecting the most accurate forecast by brand.

You will work alongside data science to produce a Sessions forecast as our brands move fully online, linking with key areas (Media, B&M, FS and Logistics and Finance) via the Retail Forecast.  The outputs will enable agile trading and lead to improved ROI and by pulling together KPI level detail on trade (from multiple sources) will provide interpretation to the trading teams

As Finance Data Manager, you will demonstrate a deep understanding of product and be able to work collaboratively to support the Planning and Trading teams. You’ll be adaptable, able to work at pace, adapting to changing trading/market conditions and fundamentally linking the Inventory movements to the ledger, aligning reporting with Logistics to improve transparency within the group and thus improving clarity from an Audit perspective. You’ll have leadership experience, able to successfully lead, coach and empower your team as well as show attention to detail and commercial experience, ensuring data provided supports the right commercial decisions.

What skills and experience will you have?

•       Advanced SQL & Product structure knowledge

•       Google Analytics

•       Advanced Excel & Power BI

•       Understanding of how Marketing, Finance and Buying & Merchandising work together to achieve Brand objectives

•       Build & maintain multi-function relationships - dealing with multiple inputs from various functions whilst maintaining a high level of ‘ownership’, showing you are a subject matter expert

•       Ability to interrogation of large data sets, with a very keen eye for accuracy
