The Client:

International Consumer Lending Business

The role:

Your role will be to provide proactive advice in relation to our obligations under the regulatory system and the ongoing monitoring of the adequacy and effectiveness of the measures and procedures put in place across the business.

You will be responsible and accountable for minimising regulatory and conduct risks through clear, commercially focussed and solutions-driven advice across. The business.

Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

Working closely with, but independently of, business areas to identify regulatory and conduct risks, and put in place adequate measures and procedures to minimise them.

Advising and assisting the business on compliance with the regulatory system in relation to its activities and establishing, implementing and maintaining adequate policies and procedures and ensuring that outcomes are tracked and any corrective actions are satisfactorily implemented.

Developing and maintaining an understanding of regulatory system requirements and keeping up to date with regulatory developments, particularly in terms of their impact on activities in the business including regulator strategy, decisions and guidance.

Playing a key part in driving the Compliance Monitoring Plan forward including supporting the design of the plan, reviewing the plan, identifying any required amendments and any risks to completion.

Producing and managing key information in the form of reporting and other documentation in order to engage with key business areas though to senior management level.

Supporting and delivering compliance and regulatory training to business colleagues where required.

 About you:

Experience of applying relevant FCA rules, guidance and handbooks in a practical context in a consumer credit and/or retail banking environment.

Analytically minded in order to simplify complex issues and evaluate systematically.

Ability to plan and prioritise workload to meet tight deadlines.

Strong communication skills through a range of styles and techniques appropriate to the audience.

Ability to influence through the presentation of evidence and solutions–based thinking to achieve effective commercial outcomes.

Experience of researching and collating complex written information.

Experience of dealing with regulatory complaints and/or financial promotions would be desirable.
