Director Opportunities in Capital Markets

Overview:

We set out to build the world's most trusted consulting firm - creating lasting impact for clients and pioneering a positive, people-first way of working. We work with everyone from FTSE 100 names to bright new start-ups, in every sector.

You'll find us collaborating shoulder-to-shoulder with our clients, from the big picture right down to the detail: helping them define their strategy, deliver complex change, spot the right commercial opportunities, manage risk or bring their purpose and sustainability goals to life. Our clients love how we get to know what makes their businesses tick - slotting seamlessly into their teams and being proudly geeky about solving their challenges.

We have hubs in Europe, the US, Asia and Australia, and we work all around the world - from a wind farm in Wyoming to a boardroom in Berlin. Find us wherever there's a challenge to be tackled and an impact to be made.

Our Capital Markets Practice...

We are in extraordinary times and our Capital Markets team is helping the industry, our clients and our partners navigate the most significant regulatory and structural changes to the market, while balancing responsibilities to clients, the economy and society in order to be as agile as possible for the future of their businesses and their people. Our clients appreciate the curiosity, authenticity, appetite to learn and passion to teach that we bring to help them to solve these challenges - based on the deep technical expertise and consulting experience we grow within our team.

What will you be doing?

  • Some of the key responsibilities will include (but are not be limited to):

  • Being a key member of the Capital Markets Leadership Team, working closely with the Partner team to drive business development activities with some of the leading players in the capital markets sector

  • Leading the ongoing relationship with client sponsor(s) and be trusted by the partner team to engage clients independently to solve their most complex problems

  • Supervising the delivery of multiple consulting projects effectively

  • Be a strong people developer, managing multiple teams effectively and building followership

Here's just some of the projects that you could be involved in:

  • As part of an industry leading consulting organisation, our Capital Markets team partner with leading financial institutions, to create and execute sustainable strategies across their businesses. Working across the capital markets sector, you will partner with our clients to deliver long lasting change, and client value.

  • Partnering with our clients to navigate the most significant industry challenges including Climate Change, Operational Resilience, Agile and Liquidity Management

  • Implementing process and operational excellence across Front Office, Middle- and Back-Office functions, Risk, Finance and Treasury Management for all asset classes

  • Redesigning front to back operating models for leading investment banks, universal banks, asset managers, and global custodians

  • Supporting complex trading technology programmes for some of the largest investment banks

So, what are we looking for?

  • Experience operating within a management consultancy environment or investment bank with significant consultancy experience

  • Demonstrable knowledge of the investment banking industry as well as a clear understanding of key current client challenges

  • Proven experience leading large scale, high priority, complex programmes, and the ability to take ownership and deliver results in challenging, client-facing environments

  • Proven experience building and managing relationships with senior stakeholders (up to C-suite)

  • Proven commercial contribution and a clear business case that will allow you to contribute to the growth of our Capital Markets practice

  • Highly-developed leadership skills, including demonstrating the ability to build a following from more junior colleagues

So, what's in it for you?

  • We are growing fast and this isn't stopping anytime soon, we are looking for people to be part of this and join us on the journey

  • Promotion is solely based on your own performance, and we give you every opportunity to progress by having two promotional reviews a year for our Directors

  • Working in an environment where the whole firm is incentivised for you to succeed - we operate on a single PnL so there is no ring-fencing of knowledge, resources, or client relationships

  • We're proud to put people first with wellbeing at the forefront of our culture, one example of this is that every employee receives £300 a year to put towards their wellbeing! In 2022 this was recognised in our #1 ranking in the UK's Great Place To Work 'Best Workplaces for Wellbeing'

  • All employees participate in the Baringa Group Profit Share Scheme, which seeks to ensure that everyone has a stake in the success of the company

  • Lastly, we recognise the importance of work-life balance and we know that the 'ideal' balance will vary from person to person and will change at different stages of our working
