​A leading Wealth Management company is looking for a Deputy MLRO to advise and provide guidance to the business on AML, Sanctions, and CTF on a local and global level. Reporting to the Chief Compliance Officer, you will ideally be able to bring expertise with client onboarding, drafting up policies, training junior staff and employees.

 

We are looking for someone operating at the Deputy MLRO, Senior Manager or Vice President level to come in and drive the financial crime function for this fantastic organisation. You will be supported by an experienced Financial Crime Analyst who will report directly to you.

 

Duties and responsibilities:

·         Define, develop, manage, refine and document the Financial Crime and AML Programme to

manage all sources of AML/CTF/Market abuse and Fraud risk, and provide reporting which

meets the needs of the regulator, local and Group management

·         Work closely with the business and other senior managers across the business to identify,

·         assess, update and mitigate the AML/CTF risks and determine the controls and resources

·         required to effectively control them

Ensure that the identification and verification standards for customer take-on, and for

compliance with MLRs, are robust and remain fit for purpose

·         Manage the suspicious activity reporting process, internally and externally

·         Communicate with all employees to ensure they understand their responsibilities and are

trained on procedures to identify financial crime and escalate suspicious activity through

·         internal reports, and make external reports to the regulator and other law enforcement

·         bodies within required timeframes

·         Receive and promptly respond to enquiries from law enforcement agencies and the business

where guidance is set on AML/CTF matters

·         Continuously develop, enhance, and embed the financial crime and AML risk framework for

managing regulatory risks across the firm, ensuring that all processes are fit for purpose

·         Be a liaison to the local authorities, managing filings to the local Financial Investigation Unit

·         Support the business regarding the launch of products to ensure regulatory requirements

are met

·         Work with multiple teams to ensure execution against regulatory requirements and internal

policies

·         Partner with Product Owners to educate and guide the appropriate execution of compliance

requirements, in respect to services and products we offer to our clients

·         Involvement in onboarding change management projects to ensure that all AML/CTF

requirements are met and the appropriate escalation points are embedded in the Financial

Crime Framework. Collaborate with internal Compliance teams, across Group entities,

to identify clear steps necessary to mitigate those regulatory risks and provide

recommendations in the form of clear business requirements

·         Member and secretary of the internal governance committee for the oversight of AML/CTF

 

Requirements:

·         Degree educated

·         Professional financial crime related qualifications advantageous (e.g. ACAMS/ICA Diploma in AML)

·         Experience working in the wealth management industry advantageous

·         Willingness to assume the SMF17 registration in the future
