MERJE are partnered with a fast growing, highly successful Speciality Insurer / ReInsurer based in the City.

Due to continued growth they are looking for talented Credit Controllers to join the team reporting into the Credit Control Manager where you will take ownership of all Credit Control Functions.

NB: This is an office based role until completion of probation (6 months) at which point 1 day homeworking may be agreed dependent upon training requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities:

    Take ownership of all Credit Control functions including aged debt and unallocated cash analysis for the respective entity and forge strong working relationships with key stakeholders.
      Involvement in the IPT reporting including the preparation, review, submission, payment and registration of the IPT returns to the Fiscal representatives within the required deadline.

Responsible for the processing of the automated Xchanging messages including queries with brokers and Xchanging, ensuring correct allocation of Part VII messages.

Creation and allocation of manual cash vouchers for Inwards, Outwards, Claims and Delegated Authority entries.

Allocation and management of automated cash vouchers for Xchanging and Delegated Authority via the Xchanging messages and the internal DA Tool for paid bordereaux.

Follow up overdue premiums, missing paid bordereaux and unallocated cash in accordance with the Company's Credit Control policy. Update the records of outstanding premium and unallocated cashes on system to show the correct procedures are followed for Audit purpose.

 

      Preparation and analysis of reports covering aged debt and unallocated cash to be presented and reviewed at the monthly credit control review meetings.

Responsible for drafting monthly bank reconciliations for underwriting accounts covering all currencies.

Keep Credit Control Manager and Financial Controller fully informed of the status of any projects assigned, as well as relevant accounting-related issues that may arise from such projects.

Support team initiative of improving the Credit Control function by reviewing existing processes and creating efficiencies.

Assist with special projects as required.

Minimum Qualifications, Skills & Experience

      A minimum of 2 years' experience working as a credit controller in the insurance sector.

Working knowledge of the Xchanging messaging service and Insurance Premium Tax (IPT).

Intermediate competency in MS Office applications: Word, Outlook and Excel.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Strong interpersonal skills in order to work effectively and professionally with diverse groups.

Demonstrated ability to deliver and manage work within tight deadlines and/or while working extended workdays.
