Credit Analyst

Our Client is on the search for an experienced Credit Analyst to join the Credit team and onboard UK based SMEs looking to borrow working capital for their businesses. The Analyst will collate the necessary financial information and take the Client through the Credit process, produce a summary report and prepare a presentation for the Credit Committee to review. The candidate must be a team player, have excellent analytical and communication skills, a good telephone manner and have a diligent approach to their work load.

•Liaise with the Commercial team to complete a successful handover of a Client, once the Client is ready to be passed to the Credit team;

•Review and understand the Commercial paper prepared by the Commercial person;

•Analyse the Client’s past financial performance;

•Understand the Client’s relationships with their Customers;

•Analyse the Churn data of the Client customer base;

•Review and assess the relevant security requirements that the loan will be leveraged against;

•Review a sample of Client contracts with their Customers;

•Obtain market knowledge of the sector that the Client is operating in;

•Test and review the Client financial model through the relevant Credit application tools;

•Analyse background information of the management team;

•Prepare a Credit Paper with summary and conclusion of the Borrowing requirements, for review by the Credit Committee;

•Debrief with the Commercial person following the Credit Committee decision;

•Assist Loan Management in preparing the project for the platform;

•Arrange site visits at the Clients offices (or via video call), perform testing on the relevant security requirements to support the loan

About you

•An undergraduate degree (no subject preference);

•Previous underwriting experience or similar, experience in a regulated environment;

•Ideally working towards (or have completed) ACCA/ACA/CFA or equivalent qualification;

•An ability and desire to work in a challenging, fast-paced environment;

•To be comfortable with change, you will be based at head office (external meeting and travel when necessary);

•Be a team player;

•Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal;

•Outstanding organisational skills and ability to focus on detail;
